Availa Bank Welcomes New EVP Chief Banking Officer

Ankeny, Iowa (March 25, 2026) – Availa Bank is pleased to announce the hiring of Dan Kitzinger as the new EVP, Chief Banking Officer. In this role, Kitzinger will develop, communicate, and execute a cohesive strategy across all banking divisions to drive responsible growth and deepen client relationships. As a key member of the executive leadership team, he contributes to the overall strategic direction of the institution.

Kitzinger brings over 20 years of community and regional banking experience to Availa Bank. In his past roles, he built strong leadership skills and has significant experience in commercial lending as well as middle market commercial real estate lending.

Kitzinger’s experience goes beyond the banking industry. Outside of work, he has been actively involved with the chambers of commerce in several communities he’s lived in, was a member of development corporations across Iowa and Minnesota, and volunteers his time as a coach and leader for multiple youth sports organizations.

Kitzinger has lived in Adel since 2018 and has been in the Des Moines area off and on since 1999. He spent some time in the Twin Cities metro area, and over four years in northwest Iowa. He’s been married for over 25 years and has three children.
